Accessories designer and stylist Shilpa Chavan has moved into mainstream fashion here at the LFW, although her creative output still shorts out the wearability scale!
Plastic box bodices, plenty of tulle and outlandish headgear -- sound crazy to you?
Well, it's just another collection from the diminutive, creative firebrand that is Shilpa Chavan, who owns the label 'littleshilpa'. Although her forte is accessories, the designer decided to put on a full-scale show on Day Two of Lakme Fashion Week. Take a look.
First up was this black tube, adorned by swirls of grey and a matching headdress.
A plastic bodice and yards of tulle match up, but the prettiest touches are those delicate shoulder and hair accessories.
Men are not spared pink -- check out this netted floral headgear!
The designer keeps things androgynous with this towering blue piece and accompanying grey swirls.
A crescent adorns this work, with lace and rigid cutwork along either years adding to its dimensions.
What looks like a floral doily drapes across a male model's face.
Hints of pink adorn the neck, while crisp ruffles span the hat.
We see matching neck and hair accessories that seem almost reminiscent of ancient temple pagodas.
Pia Trivedi provides us a full view of a plastic tube 'dress' with ornamental ruffles galore over the shoulder.
And finally, we have Diandra Soares in an all-black spidery ensemble complete with lights glinting along the sleeves.
