"Folk paintings from the Ukraine, Faberge egg details from Tsarist Russia, pre-historic fossil imprints..." These are just a few of the many things that inspired Nachiket Barve's latest offerings.
The Magpie' -- that's the name of the latest Nachiket Barve line, showcased at the LFW.
Fiery colours, layers, both structured and fluid silhouettes and hand embroidery were presented on the ramp and in case you're wondering about the name of the collection, it's representative of a type of crow that is known to steal bright, shiny objects.
So why magpies? Because Barve's creations borrow the brightest aspect of several inspirations, a list of which is too lengthy to mention here, but then you probably have a fair idea from the introduction above!
First up is this silky dress in several tones of blue, with saffron patchwork flowers creating a dainty effect.
