Fashion: 1930s vintage glam from Ritu Kumar

Day Two of Lakme Fashion Week drew to a close with Ritu Kumar's pret brand 'Label' showcased.

For the first time at the LFW, veteran designer Ritu Kumar offered ready-to-wear garments by way of the collection 'Summer Constellations' from her pret brand 'Label'.

Created keeping in mind Indian summer nights, 'Summer Constellations' sought to "evoke the sensory experience of a balmy evening, twinkling stars and the fragrance of mogra". Traditional textiles and innovative draping came together to create a very 1930's vintage look and as fairy lights twinkled above the ramp, the models made their entry one by one.

First we have Nethra Raghuraman swirling in this feminine delight with slit sleeves.

Chic capris

Next are these balloon capris, which go perfectly with a shiny black-strapped affair and large tote.

Strike gold

If you're a fan of bling, this dress with matching overcoat and shining gold work down the front should do it for you.

Sheer style

Surelee Jospeh struts her stuff in a sheer, flowing kaftan and printed cotton leggings.

Looking stately

Model Nicole Faria strikes a regal pose in a blue and red sweeping ensemble with matching clutch.

Lace and lack of symmetry

The designer teams a white lace top with ruffled collar and rosettes at the neck with an asymmetrical, multi-print tunic.

Subtle shimmer

This tapering silhouette gives off just the right amount of shine.

Aqua fine

Sheer sleeves and a hiked up hemline define this aqua-toned mini.

Playin' purple

Nethra dazzles in a gleaming purple cocktail with textured neckline.

Making waves

This tomato red glittery number shows a pattern of waves weaving all over.

Short and puffy

We see Surelee once more in a grey, white and black asymmetrical ensemble.

Hole in one

Kumar scores another perfect piece with this lovely dress -- we particularly love that hole cut into the back!

Pret pants

White threadwork pants are teamed with a wispy, sequinned halter for effect.

Sticking to the basics

The quintessential jumpsuit with cowl neckline, in the quintessential colour!

Go with the flow

A free-flowing sleeveless kurta fading from white to brick goes beautifully with see-through, cutwork leggings.

Dip-dye doodle

Nicole steps out once more, in a dip-dye white cascading number.

Fair flair

And here Nethra steps out in the showstopper -- a gorgeous saffron and black ghagara with gold work and a jazzy jacket.
