Black and white beauties on the ramp

Presenting Swapnil Shinde's 'Dancing in the Dark' line, showcased at the LFW.

Day Four of Lakme Fashion Week saw designer Swapnil Shinde create romance on the runway with his latest collection.

Creating a story from three inspirations, Swapnil Shinde presented flouncing skirts, double breasted jackets, draped dresses, evening gowns and more on Day Four of the LFW.

The line, 'Dancing in the Dark', centred around the unfolding story of an Indian lavni dancer and courtesan, Chandrakala, a poet Raphael and a club owner, Zidler.

Thus, the influences are both Indian and derived from late 17th century Europe.

While we leave it to you to interpret the designer's story, here's a glimpse of some ramp action.

Kicking things off, we have a silky pair of jodhpurs toughened up with a leather jacket.

This one-sleeved black gown moves into a sheer skirt below the hips.

A strapless affair moves from pristine white to a black and lavender underlay below the waist.

The final entry is this see-through gown, worn over a nude inner lining that ends at the upper thigh.
