Electric musings characterised this line on the fifth day of the LFW.
"Utlising electronic control systems on robotic mechanism and using technology to create, move and transform one garment or acessory part into another."
That was Vivek Kumar's 'Circuit Darzi', in a nutshell, showcased at Lakme. Cogs, wheels, wires and other gadget-related odds and ends were incorporated into the clothing line. To see just how, read on.
Things kicked off with this black dress cascading into gold glimmer; the helmet adds a dramatic touch.
Tinkling along
Next is a mauve and black kurta, embellished with bells hanging off the embroidered neckline.
Cogs 'n' wheels
Cogs and wheels adorn the front of this rouched number, worn with another bizarre piece of headgear.
Scaley sequins
Foliage tones are endowed with sparkling appeal using sequins in scaling patterns at the yoke.
Swirling slowly
Seen here is a black dress with bronze trim, worn underneath a sleeveless deep blue jacket.
Drizzled with drapes
The designer sends out this heavily draped red outfit, a flap at the neck revealing shimmer.
See-through to the source
Printed see-through mauve flows from an embroidered neckline and reveals a few buttons and electrical accoutrements underneath.
One-shouldered verve
On the more wearable end of things is this one-sided black kurta sporting the cog pattern.
Circuit couture
To drive home the theme, we have this outlandish ensemble, presumably revealing the inner workings of a circuitry.
Tuck trend
A brown dress shows off tucks down the front to create an asymmetrical hemline.
Final frontier
We see one final maxi in the collection's trademark print, this time with asymmetrical embroidery at the neckline.
Robot-maker or designer?
Kumar steps out amidst his android designs at the close of the show.
