With 2010 having drawn to a close, we're inviting you to send in your best photograph of last year. We'll be posting a few every day and readers will get to vote for each one. The 20 that land the maximum number of votes will then be compiled into a 'best of' list that will be published at the end of this month.

Shailabh Shubhisham was amazed by the range of colourful birds he spotted at Singapore Bird park recently. He writes of this picture: "I was really amazed at the range of colors that these birds have... so much in contrast to the black and white world that we kind of live in."
