After alot of speculation and assumptions, we finally have the exact specs of the KTM Duke 200, which rolls in as soon as next month. Deliveries are expected to start in January though, and the Duke 200 has what it takes to do what the Pulsar did almost a decade ago.

To start off with, the Duke 200 gets a 200cc, single cylinder engine which produces a healthy peak power of 25.51 hp @ a rather high 10000rpm. Peak torque is 20 Nm @ 8000rpm. These figures are a close match for the Honda CBR250R, but we must not forget that the Honda weighs 167kgs, while the Duke 200 weighs just 125 kgs (without liquids).

This gives the Duke 200 a massive power to weight ratio. We expect a ton in less than 17 seconds and a top speed in the region of 150 km/h.

The Duke 200 has a respectable ground clearance at 170 mm and its fuel tank can hold upto 10.5 liters of petrol. With an expected mileage of 30 kmpl, the Duke 200 is good for 300 kms on a full tank. Brakes are made by Brembo's Indian subsidiary, Bybre.

More details on the bike are still not revealed but with the power figures out now, we expect the Duke 200 to be a hot favourite among performance bikers in India. We expect Bajaj Auto to price the Duke 200 around Rs. 1.4 lakhs, which will give the CBR250R a run for its money.
