As part of the efforts to promote American education in India, students are invited to participate in an All India Essay Competition on the theme 'U.S. and India: The Role of Youth in Strengthening Civil Society'.
The grand prize is $1,000.
Who can apply
You must be between 16 and 30 years of age to participate in the competition.
Only the first 100 eligible entries from participants between 16-30 years of age will be considered.
How to apply
Entries must be sent to AmCenterND@State.gov with the subject line 'Award For American Studies -- 2012'.

The last date to send your entries is April 27, 2012.

Study homeopathy at NIH, Kolkata

Applications are invited from Indian candidates to pursue the 5½ yrs, BHMS Degree Course in Homoeopathy (including one year compulsory Rotatory Internship) at the National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata, affiliated to The West Bengal University of Health Sciences for the academic year 2012-2013.
Who can apply
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination with five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and obtained 50 per cent marks in aggregate (45 per cent marks for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates) are eligible to apply.
To be eligible for the all India common admission test, the candidate should attain 17 years but not crossed the age of 25 years as on by December 31, 2012.
Those born on before December 31, 1987 or after January 1, 1996 are not eligible.

The duly filled in application should reach the office of the Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy, Block-GE, Sector-III, Salt Lake, Kolkata-700 106 on or before the last date of submission of application i.e. April 30, 2012.
Admit card and prospectus will be sent by post and list of candidates with their roll numbers and centres will also be available in the NIH website: http://www.nih.nic.in

Date of All India Admission Test: June 3, 2012 (Sunday).
Date of publication of the result of admission test: June18, 2012
Date of Counselling (and of Admission): July 3 and 4, 2012
Result of the qualified candidates will be communicated by post and the merit list will also be available in the NIH website: http://www.nih.nic.in.
