What

The Nissan Student Brand Manager (NSBM) programme that entered its third consecutive season this year with the launch of the 6-month long campaign, is inviting applications from MBA aspirants across the country for a unique internship opportunity.

Unlike last year, the 2012 edition of the campaign will have internationally renowned panelists like marketing guru Dr Nirmalya Kumar from the London business school who will select the student brand managers.

The NSBM 2012 will culminate in the selection of 30 Nissan Student Brand Managers who will receive a grant of Rs.10,000 per month for 6 months to help them conceptualise and implement innovative ideas on Nissan brand visibility and sustenance.

NSBMs will be given Nissan Micras to help them feel and engage their thoughts in line with the product propositions.

Who can apply

Students who have completed first year of course (MBA) can participate in this programme by undertaking a small project outlined by the company.

How to apply

You can apply online www.nsbm.in and submit your proposal on the basis of theme decided by the jury in a PPT or a PDF format up to 5MB of data.

Entries will be shortlisted from every region and be called for the zonal rounds in Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata to face the Jury for further selection.

Entries shortlisted from all the five zones will be called in for 2-day finale programme.

30 students will be appointed after the final round. They will be trained by Nissan experts for the roll-out of 6 month programme.

Apply for Huawei Maitree Scholarship Program 2012

What

Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, has announced 'Maitree Scholarship Program 2012' marking the second successful year of its education based CSR initiative in India.

The scholarships aim to build a platform for exchange of ideas between the two nations, fostering a closer understanding of each others' culture and society.

In line with the previous year's commitment, Huawei has slated out 10 scholarships of up to 10,000 USD this year for each of selected students who are pursuing academic courses in China.

Who can apply

The scholarship is open to aspiring Indian students who have already secured admission to institutions of higher education in China

The scholarship programme enables aspiring Indian students to opt for various streams, preferably in the emerging areas of science and technology, culture, social studies and development related programmes in Chinese Universities.

The scholarship, which covers the student's tuition fee and living expenses for the duration of his or her study in China, is up to an amount of 10,000 USD.

Important date

Registration for the programme is currently open and applications can be submitted online before July 15, 2012.

Indian Institute of Advanced Study Fellowship 2012

Indian Institute of Advanced Study is inviting applications for the award of Fellowships for advanced research in the following areas:

a) Social, Political and Economic Philosophy;

b) Comparative Indian Literature (including Ancient, Medieval, Modern Folk and Tribal);

c) Comparative Studies in Philosophy and Religion;

d) Comparative Studies in History (including Historiography and Philosophy of History);

e) Education, Culture, Arts including performing Arts and Crafts;

f) Fundamental Concepts and Problems of Logic and Mathematics;

Apply for the R D Sethna Scholarship


What

Applications are invited from Indian students of all communities for grant of loan scholarships for scientific, technical, medical and other professional courses in India and abroad.

Who can apply

Only those applicants who have passed at least the Secondary School Certificate examination or other equivalent examination and who have secured not less than 50 per cent of the total marks in the last examination given by them prior to the making of the applications are eligible to apply for a loan scholarship.

The person proposed as guarantor must be a male, and permanent resident in Mumbai having a monthly income of not less than Rs.10,000 for applicants pursuing studies in India and Rs.15,000 for applicants pursuing studies overseas.

How to apply

Application forms may be obtained from the Trust office on payment of Rs 50 either in cash or by postal order.

Important date

The last date for receiving applications for overseas studies is May 31 and for local studies is August 31, 2012.

Pre-doctoral programme at Institute of Physics


What

Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar is inviting applications from candidates for a one-year Pre-doctoral programme.

The research activity in the Institute centres around the areas of theoretical and experimental condensed matter physics, nuclear physics and high energy physics.

Successful candidates join the doctoral programme leading to PhD degree.

Who can apply

Applications are invited from GATE and CSIR-UGC Test (NET) qualified candidate, who satisfy the following criteria:

A)MSc in Physics with minimum 55 per cent marks (in aggregate)

B)GATE qualifiers with minimum score of 95 percentile having current validity or, CSIR-UGC Test (NET) for Junior Research Fellowship qualifiers within last one year.

Candidates who have qualified JEST-2012 with a minimum score of 35 marks need not send any application.

They will be contacted directly by the Institute. If a candidate has scored less than 35 marks in JEST-2012 but satisfiers any of the criteria for GATE.NET as above, he/she should also send the application.
