IMAGES: Mafia, molls and gangsters at Fashion Week!

Inspired by the movie Shootout at Wadala, Rajat K Tangri's showing at the LFW brought alive the theme of the movie with dark vintage glamour. Photographs: Uttam Ghosh

On the fifth and final day of Lakme Fashion Week, designer Rajat K Tangri presented a line borrowing from '50s silver screen avatars of mobsters and their molls.

Tangri said he was inspired by the gangster movie Shootout at Wadala; glitzy eveningwear for the women and sharp tailored looks for the men took centrestage, as the models channelled gangsters and glamazons.

Next we see Deepti Gujral in a nude sheath number with sparkles down the bodice.

This leathery black suit sports striking embroidered lapels, but those sequinned brogues steal the show.

The showstopper, donned by Alesia Raut, was this exquisite hand-embroidered lace gown.

Tangri seems reluctant to take to the ramp and applauds his models from the side.
