Rihanna gets racy with Kate Moss in topless shoot

Rihanna treated her Twitter fans to several racy photos of herself and Kate Moss in various states of undress.

The singer and the supermodel each take a turn to appear half-naked and draped over each other's laps in a series of racy new shots for December's V Magazine, the New York Post reported.

Adorned with lacy bustiers, smoky eyes, stilleto heels and whips, both ladies explored a bit of their dominatrix sides for the Mario Testino spread.

The 24-year-old singer later uploaded more raunchy backstage shots to show her modelling credentials -- from the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show at Lexington Armory, where she wowed crowds with two songs.

In more Kate Moss news, the supermodel and style icon has admitted that she 'never liked' her facial features.

Now 38, she says that she never saw herself as model material, describing her looks as 'alright'.

"I wasn't the prettiest girl in class. No breasts, short legs, gangly teeth. I didn't think I was model material, that's for sure," the Daily Mail quoted the mother-of-one as telling the New York Times.

However, since her worldwide debut as a topless model for Calvin Klein at age 17, Kate concedes that she has grown to appreciate her appearance.

"I think they're all right, my looks, now," she said.

"But I've never seen myself as sexy or a side of myself that boys would like," she added.

Sophie Monk, who is considered as plastic a person as her lips and breasts, admits to plumping her lips once eight years ago and that the cosmetic surgery stops there.

"Sure, there are those who probably can't stand me," the Daily Telegraph quoted her as saying.

"But I just say what I really think, I am always upfront and tell the truth, so I guess that does occasionally get me into a bit of trouble," she added.

Women's obsession with thin bodies could potentially be changed if advertising showed more plus-size models, researchers say.

The Durham University researchers, who studied over 100 women, provide evidence to back calls for models in adverts to be more representative of the actual population.

This move could ultimately help girls and women to develop a healthier attitude to eating, the researchers say.

In the preliminary study, women who habitually strongly preferred thin body shapes were significantly less keen on thin bodies after they had been shown pictures of plus-size catalogue models.

Conversely, showing slim models increased women's preference for thin bodies.

The effects could be found whether the women were shown catalogue models or ordinary women of either size.

The findings provide research data for policy-makers and support for on-going calls from Government and health charities to "normalise" female models in the media.

"This really gives us some food for thought about the power of exposure to super-slim bodies. There is evidence that being constantly surrounded through the media by celebrities and models who are very thin contributes to girls and women having an unhealthy attitude to their bodies," lead author Dr Lynda Boothroyd from Durham University said.

"Although we don't yet know whether brief exposure to pictures of larger women will change women's attitudes in the long term, our findings certainly indicate that showing more 'normal' models could potentially reduce women's obsession for thinness."

"Thinner bodies are definitely in vogue and within western media, thinness is overwhelmingly idolised and being overweight is often stigmatised. Although the media doesn't directly cause eating disorders, research suggests it is a very powerful factor in creating body dissatisfaction."

"Furthermore, it seems that even so-called 'cautionary' images against anorexia might still increase our liking for thinner bodies, such as those featuring the late French model Isabelle Caro, who gained worldwide publicity for posing nude for an anti-anorexia campaign while suffering from the illness. These campaigns may not have the desired effect which is a sobering thought," she said.

The images used in the study were of thin and plus-size models from high street catalogues and beauty contests, and of ordinary women photographed in plain grey leotards.

The thin models shown were a standard size for catalogue models and the women in leotards had a Body Mass Index (BMI) of between 11 and 14. The plus size models were a minimum of clothes size 16 and the women in leotards had a BMI of between 36 and 42.

The study has been published in the journal PLOS ONE.

Lady Gaga's superfans can now get their hands on a piece of their idol's vast wardrobe, as four unique items created especially for the popstar are set to be sold off at an auction.

Julien's Auctions, the Beverley Hills-based auction house that specialises in entertainment memorabilia, are set to put the creations worn by Gaga under the hammer on December 1.

The priciest of the Gaga lot, which is part of the 'Icons and Idols' auction, is the 'Ecstasy' dress, designed by Istituto Marangoni-graduate Eddie Gavriilidis, the Telegraph reported.

With a starting price of 5,000 dollars, the gown is expected to sell for 10,000 to 12,000 dollars.

It even has a speck of the pop star's blood on it from where she was accidentally cut on the arm by an overzealous fan whilst wearing it.

Other items include a clear rubber mask worn by the star in the Showstudio short film Manifesto of Little Monsters; a second mask formed of rusty nuts, bolts and washers created by Keko Hainswheeler and worn by Gaga in the video for Bad Romace, as well as an extravagant 20-inch-high headpiece that was commissioned for her Monster Ball tour.

Both the rubber mask and headpiece were designed by Franc Fernandez, the designer responsible for Gaga's now-infamous meat dress.

Julianne Moore has been named the new global brand ambassador for cosmetics company L'Oreal Paris.

According to Women's Wear Daily, the 51-year-old actress will begin her term from 2013 and will be seen in ads for the company's new product 'Cellular Renaissance'.

The Oscar-nominated star revealed that her personal skin-care routine is fairly simple, consisting of face oil, SPF and a washcloth, but she loves and buys L'Oreal products regularly.

"I'm an actual user of the brand and it's hard not to be," UsMagazine.com quoted the actor as saying.

"Every modern woman shops everywhere for beauty, but for me it's mostly the airport or the drugstore."

"It's nice to be promoting something that is accessible to everyone," she added.

Cameron Diaz, who poses in a backless lace dress for the latest issue of Elle UK, has revealed the secret to her stunning figure.

In a new interview with the Sun, the 40-year-old actress was asked what burned most calories -- 30 minutes of dancing or 30 minutes of sex, and she replied, "Ha ha ha! Depends on what kind of sex you're having. Try 'em both! Do them both on the same day, that's what I say!"

During the wacky Q and A session, Diaz also admitted that she loves pork scratchings.

"Oh, that's my favourite snack in the whole world! Even with the bristles -- I don't care, I'll do it! It's my favourite thing," she said.

Emma Stone has been named Hollywood's most stylish star for the year 2012 in a magazine poll.

The Amazing Spider-Man actress' unique fashion sense brought her top honours in the survey by editors at InStyle, who placed her streets ahead of rivals including Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss, the Daily Express reported.

Troy star Diane Kruger is in second place, beating Twilight's Kristen Stewart into third and TV presenter Alexa Chung in fourth.

Fashion show front-row regular Kate Bosworth gained fifth place, with Spice Girls star-turned-fashion designer Beckham one spot behind.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge's elegant style earned the royal seventh place, but the surprise entry was from Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise's six-year-old daughter Suri, who is placed ninth.

The style princess is sandwiched between supermodel Moss in eighth place and Florence + the Machine frontwoman Florence Welch in tenth.
