11/12/13 just a gimmicky date, say astrologers

The century’s last sequential date holds no astrological significance, say experts.

The whole world is going crazy planning unique things they could do to make the century's last sequential date 11/12/13 special.

From getting married to delivering a baby, people around the globe have already made plans to make the day memorable.

We spoke to a bunch of numerologists and astrologers to understand what's auspicious about the date and what it means to different people.

Rule of moon

According to Sanjay B Jumaani, the number 11, adds up to two, which is ruled by moon.

At the same time, the date, 11/12/2013 (11+12+2013) adds up to 2 as well.

Jumaani says that people who are ruled by planet moon tend to be dreamy, romantic, gentle, imaginative and creative and hence the date will be significant for people who are ruled by the number Two.

Number Two born people are also gifted and talented, Jumaani adds, examples being KL Sehgal (April 11) actors Rajesh Khanna (December 29), Amitabh Bachhan (October 11), Shah Rukh Khan (November 2) and Michael Jackson (August 29).

No astrological significance

According to Mandaar Naik, besides the sequential importance, 11/12/13 holds no astrological significance.

"It's a gimmicky date, besides the special number, the date has no special significance, astrologically," he insists.

Who will benefit today?

Naik seconds with Jumaani that those ruled by moon will benefit today.

“The date in question could be good for those who are 1, 2, 4 or 7; i.e., No 1 (Sun) are those born on 1st, 10th, 19th and 28th; No 2 (Moon) are 2nd, 11th, 20th and 29th born. No 4 (Uranus) are 4th, 13th, 22nd and 31st born and 7 (Neptune) are 7th, 16th and 25th born. For others, the date could be indifferent to even not auspicious enough to attempt something important."

Naik further added that those in the creative profession -- including writers, poets and artistes may find success if they set out to start something new today.

Adding on to what Naik and Jumaani said, Mumbai-based astrologer Vijay Panicker says the date is merely a gimmick and "may not bring in much luck for people who share their birthdays, or are planning their marriage."

Who should be careful?

"The flip side of the Moon is that it makes a person moody, and sometimes prone to mood swings and restlessness. With the phases of the Moon, even the vast ocean is affected, as can be seen with the high and low tides. They are also inclined to be oversensitive, and so easily get downhearted if they are not in happy surroundings," warns Jumaani.

Elaborating on that, astrologer Mandaar Naik says that people who have incurred losses or are going through a bad marriage should be wary of today, and not take a hasty decision as it could lead to losses or permanent damage.

"The year is good for Cancerians, but Scorpions need to be careful about taking quick decisions, and wait for a few more days to think over solving pending issues," explained Naik.

Meanwhile in Panicker's opinion, Sagittarians -- those born between November 23 and December 21 will be the worst hit this year.

"Sagittarians tend to act on impulse and live an extravagant life. This year, there is every possibility that they can make the wrong choices, be it a career decision, business initiative, planning a baby or marriage," says Panicker.

If your birthday falls today

For those celebrating their birthday today, Naik has a special word of caution.

"You are already going through a rough patch, and it is likely to continue this year as well. It would help if you avoid taking shortcuts or quick decisions for immediate success as plans may backfire. Financially, too the year is going to be tough, so keep a tab on your expenses. For those looking to get married, you are likely to find a partner and tie the knot this year. You can look forward to situations that'll require you to travel away from home and family. Given your financial status, the year ahead may not give you too many opportunities to socialise like you used to. Overall, the year may not be exciting, but it wont be bad as well.

If you are getting married today...

For couples tying the knot today, Naik says: If the decision to get married is yours, you may have a smooth run ahead, but if you are following someone else's advice to get married, there is every likelihood that the year may be unpleasant for the both of you."
