Top 8 entrance exams beyond the IIT-JEE

Your opportunity to study at a leading engineering institute just got better.

There are over 40 separate entrances for engineering colleges in the country. We present the top ones here:

1. Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam (AEEE)

Amrita University conducts an entrance exam every year in various cities across the country for admission to the BTech programmes at its three Schools of Engineering located at Amritapuri, Bangalore and Coimbatore.

AEEE Paper Pattern

Mathematics: 60 questions
Physics: 30 questions
Chemistry: 30 questions
Total: 120 questions
Total Marks: 120 x 3 = 360 marks

The Amrita undergraduate entrance exam question paper is a multiple choice paper.

There will be negative marking.

Each right answer will be awarded three marks each.

2. Kerala Common Entrance Examination (KEAM)

KEAM is conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, Kerala Government to provide admission to the students in various engineering courses in the institutes in the state.

KEAM Paper Pattern

The entrance exam will have two papers.

The first paper is Physics and Chemistry and the second is Maths.

The candidate will get two-and-a-half hours to complete each paper.

3. SRM Entrance Examination (SRMEE)

SRMEE is an entrance exam conducted by the SRM University to provide admission to the eligible candidates for various programmes in engineering offered by the university.

SRMEEE Paper Pattern

The exam will have objective type questions.

The exam is divided into four parts. The first part is Maths with 35 questions and has 105 marks.

Second is Physics with 35 questions and 105 marks.

Third part is Chemistry with 35 questions and 105 marks.

The fourth part is Biology with 35 questions and 105 marks.

One mark will be deducted for every wrong answer in Physics, Chemistry and Maths and 0.7 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer in Biology.

4. VIT Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE)

The examination is conducted by VIT University to provide admission to the prospective students in various degree courses in engineering run by the University.

VITEEE Paper Pattern

The exam will have four sections with 40 questions each.

Each question carries one mark and there will be no negative marking.

The duration of the exam is two-and-a-half hours.

5. GITAM Admission Test (GAT)

GAT is an entrance examination conducted by the GITAM University, Hyderabad to provide admission to the students in various BTech and Dual Degree engineering courses at the university.

GAT Paper Pattern

The university has Online Admission Test. The entrance test will have three papers.

The first paper is Maths/Biology with 40 questions.

The second paper is Physics with 30 questions and the third paper is Chemistry with 30 questions.

The duration of the test is two hours.

The candidate will obtain three marks for a right answer and there is a deduction of one mark for wrong answer.

No marks will be awarded for unattended questions.

6. Karunya University Engineering Entrance Examination (KEE)

KEE is an entrance exam conducted by the Karunya University to provide admissions to the eligible candidates for various engineering courses in the university.

It is a Christian Minority University.

KEE Paper Pattern

The entrance exam will have objective-type questions.

The exam has five major sections.

The first section is Maths with 45 questions.

The second is Physics with 20 questions.

Chemistry is next with 20 questions. The fourth paper on Christian Values has 15 questions.

The non-Christian candidates have to attend Ethics section instead of Christian Values.

The fifth section is General Aptitude with 15 questions.

7. Manipal EPSI National Admission Test

A Common Entrance Test conducted by Manipal Institute of Technology for degree courses in engineering in the University.

Engineering aspirants will be screened on the basis of their qualifying exam marks as well as their performance in ENAT -- EPSI National Admission Test.

ENAT Paper Pattern

The admission test is online. The test for BTech courses is of two-and-a-half hours duration.

The test will have 240 multiple choice questions. The distribution of questions is given below:

Physics: 60 questions
Chemistry: 60 questions
Mathematics: 80 questions
English and General Aptitude: 40 questions

8. Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Examination (KIITEE)

A common entrance test conducted by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) for various engineering courses offered by the University.

KIITEE Paper Pattern

The paper pattern for the candidates applying for BTech contains three papers (Physics, Chemistry and Maths) with 40 questions each.

The questions will be based on Class 12 syllabus prescribed by CBSE.

The candidates appearing for BTech-Lateral Entry will have three papers (Maths, Basic Electrical Engineering and Engineering Mechanics).
