In a bid to boost sales amid tough economic conditions, Mahindra 2 Wheelers has come up with a cut price version of its Rodeo automatic scooter.

The cut price version of the scooter, the Mahindra Rodeo Std, has been priced at Rs 45,199 -- nearly Rs 3,000 lesser than Rodeo RZ that costs Rs 48,164 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).

Mahindra has introduced the new variant as Rodeo is not doing well. With the launch of the cut price variant, the manufacturer is hoping better sales in the coming months.

To cut prices, the manufacturer has toned down the Rodeo and removed some of its features, while leaving much of the mechanicals unchanged.

The manufacturer has replaced the front fuelling cap of the scooter and also repositioned fuel filling inlet under the seat.

It means that owners of the new scooter will have to lift-up the seat to get the scooter re-fuelled.

Anti-theft locking system has been swapped with a conventional key hole. The informative digital instrumentation console has been swapped with an analog unit, Thus there is now no digital speedometer and tachometer on the new scooter.

In addition, the buyers of the Mahindra Rodeo Std will see under-seat light and the mobile phone charging socket missing.

The new scooter gets power from the same 125cc four-stroke engine mated to a CVT automatic gearbox. It also retains the same telescopic front forks. The scooter is now affordable, though some features are missing.

Booking for the new Mahindra Rodeo Std automatic scooter has already started, and it is available at all Mahindra Two-Wheeler dealerships across India.

With the most recent price cut, the Rodeo turns preferred for the automatic scooter purchasers. But, Rodeo Std purchasers will bemoan the lack of one main trait, the front fuelling characteristic, which is at this time frequently being offered on automatic scooters.

The exclusion of this major trait on the Rodeo Std edition entails that the problem of dismounting the vehicle and experiencing the rigmarole of unfolding the seat each time for filling fuel is something that vehicle purchasers will have to bear with.
