Katie Holmes using snail slime on face for complexion

Katie Holmes is apparently trying to improve her complexion with the help of snail slime.

The 34-year-old actress, who recently split from Tom Cruise last year, is rubbing in face creams enriched with mucin, a protein from the molluscs, the Sun reported.

According to the Holmes friends, the Hollywood star loves the results.

They also revealed that since last year was difficult for the mother-of one, she had a lot of catching up to do in her career, and thus felt the pressure of going all out to look amazing for auditions to land a dream film role.

Men's magazine GQ, which is known worldwide for it's sexiest polls, has come under fire for its '100 sexiest women of the century' list, which categorizes some women according to their race and ignores the ethnic roots of others.

The US edition of this magazine has been slammed by the critics for suggesting that women of certain ethnicities are only 'sexy' in relation to their own race, while others are deemed universally attractive.

In the list, Indian actor Frieda Pinto and Chinese actor Zhang Ziyi have been crowned 'hottest Indian chick' and 'hottest Chinese chick' respectively. (ANI)

Over the weekend she visited the gifting suite at the Miami Lounge to pick up some luxurious freebies. The star had a variety of beautiful things to choose from, including RUDSAK fur coats.

"Courtney mentioned wearing the jacket on stage, and took a passport holder and a wallet and a fur hat," an eyewitness told FOX411.

She was asking if she looked crazy, but after reassurance, took it, the source said.

Although another onlooker described the female rocker as looking "pretty disheveled" throughout the affair. Apparently, she was really kind to employees.

Even though Brittney Spears is keeping a low profile following her split from fiance Jason Trawick, her breasts made a break for freedom as she recently headed out to lunch in LA.

The singer, who is currently lining up a residency in Las Vegas, was snapped heading to lunch in LA on Saturday, wearing a cute, floaty dress that was perfect for the baking weather, the Mirror reported.

There was only one small problem – the halterneck wasn't exactly secure – and this combined with Britney's huge boobs meant wardrobe malfunction.

Steampunk becomes latest fashion craze to hit high streets

Steampunk, once a cultish mix of sci-fi, steam and Victoriana in films and books, is now set to take over the world of fashion.

Forecasters said that the style, which blends the gaslight romance of Victorian London with a frisson of H G Wells and Jules Verne-inspired fantasy, is poised to make a massive leap from niche to the high street, the Independent reported.

The news will come as little surprise to the tens of thousands who are already into the retro-futuristic style.

But experts at the computer giant IBM predict that "steampunk will shift from low-production, high-cost 'craft' manufacturing to mass-production" within the next two years.

IBM analysed social media and other internet sites, and found that the amount of online discussion about steampunk increased 11-fold between 2009 and 2012.

It also noted that since 2010, more than 20 major department stores and other retailers had become "steampunk savvy".

Fashion labels, accessories suppliers and jewellery-makers are expected to integrate steampunk looks into their designs – from corsets and aviator goggles to lace veils and frock coats.

Evidence of the emerging trend can already be seen on the catwalks.

Prada's winter men's campaign featured several of Hollywood's leading males, including Gary Oldman, Jamie Bell and Willem Dafoe – dressed for adventure in heavily tailored, steampunk-inspired suits. The hats and equestrian-themed outfits in John Galliano's summer 2013 collection for Dior are said to have been similarly influenced.

High-street and internet retailers haven't been slow to react. Topshop and Asos have already embraced the trend, with the former offering a gothic velvet-and-lace bralet teamed with a floor-length pleated skirt in oxblood, and Asos has a double-breasted coat. Alternatively, Planet offers a veil fascinator.

The distinctive style -- the name was first coined to distinguish a genre of fantasy set in an alternative Victorian era – can now be widely seen in everything from blockbuster films such as Van Helsing, starring Hugh Jackman, and the Robert Downey Jr Sherlock Holmes films through to some of Lady Gaga's wacky outfits and the steamship entrance of singer Rihanna at the London Paralympics. Actress Anne Hathaway burst into tears when her hair was cut off for 'Les Miserables'.

The movie's director Tom Hooper decided against using scissors as he wanted it to look more authentic by having her hair cut off with a knife for her role of Fantine in the movie
musical, reported Contactmusic.

Actress Nicola Sloane was given the task of cutting Hathaway's locks.

"The director said 'I want it to look really vicious we need you to be hacking at it with a knife'. We blu-tacked a razor blade against a knife blade and I held the two together and you have to saw away at it that's the only way to get it off.

"She was all right and I had cut all the front and this little voice went 'cut'. I thought 'oh she's had enough' so I moved my hands away and then she burst into tears when she

felt how short it was at the front," Sloane said.

She said Hathaway was very passionate about growing her hair long.

"She had been growing her hair for three years. Then I hacked it all off and made her look terrible," she added.

Hathaway, 30, later sold her hair in order to raise money for charity.
