Daddy and me: 'My dad, my hero!'

Last updated on: June 14, 2013 09:18 IST

Readers share memorable pictures of their dads. Share yours too!

With Father's Day coming up on June 16, we invited readers to send in special 'Daddy and Me' pics. Here's the next set of responses!

We start out with these photographs of Deeptha Doshi with her father over the years.

She writes: "My dad, C Sridharan, is my source of inspiration. He is a good listener, he never judges, he is always supportive and is a loving presence in my life. Right from the time I was a child to today, his qualities of kindness, empathy, generosity and compassion have had a deep impact on my life. My dad is my hero and I am lucky to have him as my father.

For Father's Day, we're inviting our readers to send in 'Daddy and me' pics -- memorable moments captured on camera. What better way to show your dad you care than re-living your memories?

Simply write in to getahead@rediff.co.in (subject line: 'Daddy and Me') with the photograph attached and the little story behind your contribution. We'll be posting the best entries right here on rediff.com all through the week!

Devarajan K didn't send a photograph but did write in this note for his father:

"I would like to say that my Appa, has been my friend, philosopher and guide throughout my life. He maintains amazing energy levels for a 70-year-old man. I have fond memories of my father taking me to exams, tests and other functions. He has been always been there for me and brother whenever we need him. He has instilled the right set of values that me and my brother have.He has sacrificed so much to bring us up, often overlooking his necessities to provide for our comforts and luxuries. He still is a pillar of strength for me and my wife -– taking care of the household and my daughter when both of us lead hectic professional lives. He is an equally devoted husband and takes care of my mom during her health issues.

He is indefagitable and runs around the house totally absorbed and taking care of the smallest of details. In fact it is he who reminds us when my daughter’s homework is due and when we need to get something for her. He is in fact the hands on parent for my daughter. Appa, we love you very much and very much blessed to be your sons. I wish you to be born as your child again as we can never get enough of the love you and mom shower on us. Love you Appa and thank you very much for everything you have done for us."
