Spectacularly delicious Indian weaves on the runway

Soumitra Mondal and Vaishali S showed their lines at the Lakme Fashion Week

Clean, simple silhouetes, whites and haunting tracks marked the show featuring two of India's finest young designers at the Lakme Fashion Week.

Soumitra Mondal combined the traditional floral embroidery and varied geometric weaving patterns to create a harmonic whole.

Mondal's line was indian traditional and was made up of largely three colours -- white, ivory and rani pink.

Made out of hand woven khadi silk and a variety of Jamdani fabrics, the outfits boasted of some stunning embroidery.

The master designer appears on the runway to take a bow as his models and audience break into a round of applause.

Known for her earthy designs and simple silhouettes, Vaishali S also didn't disappoint this season. The young Mumbai-based designer sought inspiration from the Assamese Mekhala.

Vaishali used the mekhala motifs over plain backdrops.

Interestingly you couldn't help notice that in a few outfits such as this one specifically, both the designers seem to have been taken in by the same colour palette.

For the first time, Vaishali showed menswear on the LFW runway, which spelt minimalism and elegance.

The silhouettes for men ranged from long and flowy to structured with sharp cuts such as this one.
