Honda CBR300R coming soon to India

When the bike lands in India, expect it to be priced at around Rs 2 lakh. A launch is expected early next year.

Honda has unveiled the CBR300R in China, a new model which will replace the CBR250R in quite a few markets.

The CBR300R doesn't feature the same styling as the CBR250R but takes influence from the Fireblade. Honda has also updated the CBR250R in the Japanese market with the same styling as the CBR300R.

The new CBR250R will be showcased at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show.

The Honda CBR300R is based on the CBR250R and thus the underpinnings are similar. The cluster too features common elements.

In India, the CBR300R is likely to replace the CBR250R, just like the Ninja 250R was replaced by the Ninja 300.

In spite of the CBR300R featuring a bigger engine, the bike weighs less than the CBR250R (around 8 kg less).

Powering the Honda CBR300R is a 286cc engine which is a bored up unit of the single-cylinder motor powering the CBR250R.

The 300cc bike produces 30.4 HP of power at 8500 RPM and 27 Nm of torque at 7250 RPM, compared to the CBR250R's 26 BHP and 22.9 Nm.

The CBR300R boasts of better power to weight ratio which is sure to help in overall performance.

Honda will offer the CBR300R in two variants -- Standard and ABS with a range of colours including HRC and red. When the bike lands in India, expect it to be priced at around Rs 2 lakh. A launch is expected early next year.
