PICS: Royal Enfield's most powerful bike

The Royal Enfield Continental GT is powered by a 535cc and belts out 29.1 BHP of peak power and 44 Nm of peak torque.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT has been a long time coming and has been finally launched in the UK. An India launch will happen next month and the motorcycle is expected to be priced between Rs 2-2.5 lakh.

Known popularly as the cafe racer, the Continental GT has been shown to us multiple times in the past few years. The vehicle is a modern take on the retro cafe racer machines from the 1960s and boy does it take heavy influence from the original.

The Continental GT is powered by a 535cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which uses a Keihin fuel injection system. This motor belts out 29.1 BHP of peak power and 44 Nm of peak torque.

Royal Enfield calls the Continental GT as the fastest, lightest and most powerful production bike from their stable.

The motorcycle weighs 184 kgs and is manufactured at the company's Oragadam facility. The UK pricing of this mean machine is Rs 5.21 lakh (£5200).

Cafe racer motorcycles have a very different shape. They have minimum body parts, rear set footpegs and lower handlebars. 

The GT looks the part with the heavy chrome finishing being the highlight. It comes with a single seat as standard. The tyres are Pirelli Sport Demon while braking duties are taken care by 300 mm and 240 mm discs at the front and rear respectively.

The Continental GT uses conventional telescopic forks at the front and Paioli twin charged gas shocks at the rear. 

The motorcycle should create its own niche as it's a bike with a very different kind of appeal. Royal Enfield has also launched an apparel and riding gear line to go with its latest offering.
