CBI questions Ajay Jadeja

Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja was questioned for more than two hours by the Central Bureau of Investigation on Sunday in connection with the cricket match-fixing scandal.

A CBI spokesman said Jadeja came alone to the CBI headquarters at around 1500 IST and the investigating team recorded his statement. He left at about 1730 IST.

There had been a lull in the CBI's interrogation of cricketers after former team physiotherapist Ali Irani and all-rounder Manoj Prabhakar, whose secretly recorded videotapes also had references to Jadeja, were questioned on July 2 and 4.

According to CBI sources, the investigating team had in the last 12 days been going into the statements made by cricketers and officials and perusing other documents relating to the case.

Former skipper Mohammed Azharuddin, former manager Ajit Wadekar, former BCCI president Inderjit Singh Bindra and cricketers Navjot Singh Sidhu, Nayan Mongia and Nikhil Chopra are among those who have been interviewed till now.
