Manchester United goalkeeper Tim Howard saved the penalty taken by Fernando Meira. Howard came off his line, dove full stretch to his right, to come up with a brilliant save.
ManUnited striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, who missed his last three penalty kicks, finally converted a 67th minute penalty to make it 2-1.
