Srichand Hinduja has returned to a new role in Britain as a spiritual guide to Hindu youth.
SP, as he is reverently called at the Hindu youth festival underway in London, has been given a billing pretty close to that of a Sankaracharya.
Hinduja was the first of a group of VIPs who was called up to the stage to lead the Monday evening arti performed before Hindu scriptures. Thousands attend the katha at the festival every day.
Carrying a thali with a lit diya and prasad placed on it, Hinduja was prominent in leading the arti at the end of a day of a katha by Hindu spiritual leader Rameshbhai Oza.
Hinduja is reported to have donated a substantial amount of money towards the organisation of the Hindu youth festival in London. The ten-day festival is expected to cost about 100,000 pounds.
Hinduja has been taking an even more active interest in Hindu matters since his return to London. He has been avoiding both the British and the Indian media.
He remains a VIP on the religious circuit where he has made substantial donations to several temples and religious groups.
