Addressing a press conference at the White House, which was telecast live on major television networks, he did not give a specific time frame to track down Osama and neutralise the Al Qaeda, but said that the US would stop bombing Afghanistan if it gave up Osama.
"I want him brought to justice," he asserted.
Answering queries from newspersons, Bush did not entirely dismiss the possibility of expanding military action beyond Afghanistan. He said that the US would 'bring to justice' nations that harbour terrorists.
Commenting on the FBI warning, Bush said that the government was doing all it could to 'protect the citizens'.
He urged Americans to report anything suspicious to law enforcement authorities.
In the run up to the military action in Afghanistan, Bush had frozen the funds and assets of terrorist organisations and individuals known to be connected to Osama bin Laden.
He and members of his administration had also criss-crossed the globe to cobble up support for initiating direct action against the Afghanistan's ruling Taleban, which is hosting Osama.
