Several Indian associations on Tuesday condemned the terrorist attack on America.
"It is a heinous act against the humanity and we condemn it in the strongest words," Dr Thomas Abraham, president of New York based Global Organisation of Persons of Indian Origin said.
GOPIO has called upon its members in New York to donate blood and work with the authorities wherever voluntary services could be utilised.
The World Malayalee Council said the dastardly act had threatened the free world.
Innocent people were killed by cowardly attackers, who had no respect for life, Andrew Pappachen, president of the WMC, said.
He said the WMC would do whatever possible to help the victims.
