Pakistan on Monday said the Taleban rulers in Afghanistan should take "an immediate decision" on the issue of handing over Saudi-born terror mastermind Osama bin Laden to the United States.
Laden is viewed by Washington as the prime suspect behind last week's terrorist attacks in New York and Washington.
"For the people of Afghanistan and Pakistan, an immediate decision should be made, because we will be the target of the influx of refugees and we will have to bear the burden for the sake of the people of Afghanistan," Foreign Minister Abdul Sattar said.
Stating that "time is of essence", he said the US felt deeply hurt and that it did not have patience for argument.
Sattar said the Taleban should take a decision keeping in mind the interests of Afghan people.
