Britain's Scotland Yard on Friday said that anti-terrorist police in London had arrested three men and one woman in connection with the attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York and Pentagon, near Washington DC.
A man, 27, and a woman, 25, were picked up from a house in west London, police said. A second man, aged 29, was arrested at a separate address also in west London.
Later, anti-terrorist officers arrested another man from Birmingham, central England.
The identities of those arrested were not revealed.
The Scotland Yard said they were being questioned in London.
