The web sites, www.jehad.net and www.jihad-online.com, could not be accessed on Friday and Saturday with a message that the page can't be opened and that it was forbidden, Islamabad daily News said on Monday.
The two web sites were a major source of information on bin Laden and the Al Qaeda and carried news, views and comments about other Islamic movements and highlighted the achievements and sacrifices of terrorist outfits like the Hamas, Islamic Jehad and of others like the Chechens fighting Russian troops in Chechnya, and Taliban and their supporters resisting the US and its allied forces in Afghanistan, it said.
However, another pro-Laden web site, Al neda (the call), is still functional, it said.
The paper said that its addresses have changed from Malaysia to Venezuela and then to Columbia. For a while it claimed to be operating from US President George W Bush's home state, Texas, the paper added.
It has been putting together information on bin Laden, Al Qaeda and other Islamic leaders and organisations, it said. It also displays past Laden interviews and statements, and information about the Taliban, the report said.
The Taliban's exclusive web site www.alemarh.com is also functional, it said. It provides information about the Taliban Islamic movement (in Arabic and Pashto languages) and its founder Mullah Mohammad Omar, the report said.
It still is not clear who is operating these web sites, it said.
