The Contract System
This is a good start on one of the imporant issues of Indian
cricket, but more needs to be done.
The top 20 players from each state also need to get paid a minimum
lumpsum amount from their respective associations so that they can make cricket their top
priority, not worry about keeping their jobs etc.
The Tendulkars and Kumbles are not really worried about their
future life, but the upcoming players from regional areas are. If local associations dont have enough funds for that, the BCCI should help.
