The fire in South Africa over the Denness incident is still raging and we have Steve Waugh adding fuel to it.

Does this man have any ethics at all? I understand the sour feeling that he has against India. Obviously it is been some time since Australia have beaten India in India. But does that give him a right to comment on things he has no idea of ?

Does he not realise that the hue and cry is not about what the crime is, but about the nature of punishment meted out to the different players ? Well! for a minute if we assume that Sachin did tamper with the ball, why was he let off so easily with a suspended sentence?

If Sehwag deserves to be punished for excessive appealing, then half of Waugh's Australian side today should not be playing cricket. Where was Steve Waugh when Slater was pointing his ugly finger at Venkatraghavan ? Not to forget his own brother and that infamous Shane Warne who sold information for a few dollars and escaped with a fine.

Let's pause for a moment and look at the some of the statements made by Steve Waugh.

"Everyone knows how you are supposed to play. If someone does something wrong they're going to get penalised". Does this not apply to Warne and Mark Waugh, Steve ? Does this not apply when a Ponting or a Slater questions an umpire or a McGrath uses foul words on the pitch?

Like you said Mr.Waugh! You will have to play cricket till the age of 40 to get back at India. Till then it is in your interest to understand the fact that people living in glass houses should not throw stones at others. As far as your dream of beating India in India is concerned, I presume you realise that any student who gets 100% marks after writing a particular exam 10-12 times, is certainly not brilliant.
