Ganguly unfazed about ACU probe
India captain Sourav Ganguly says he is not worried about the International Cricket Council Anti
Corruption Unit's investigation into the triangular one-day
series match between India and Kenya, which was played in Port Elizabeth
on October 17.
"You can't do anything about these allegations. If they
(ACU) want to have an inquiry, they can do it," Ganguly said
reacting to reports about ICC securing tapes of the match.
He reiterated that the loss to Kenya was an aberration.
"I have already said that was bit of an accident. It shouldn't happen
again."
Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar also said the team was
hurt by the inexplicable loss.
"What happened in Port Elizabeth really hurt us and we
wanted to hit back," Tendulkar said, after India's impressive
186-run victory overt Kenya in the last league match on Wednesday.
"It (the loss) was a good eye opener for us... I am glad we
played well today and we would like to continue this,"
Tendulkar said after receiving the man-of-the-match award for
his brilliant 146-run knock.
Coach John Wright had also dismissed suggestions that
India's 70-run loss to Kenya could have been fixed.
"I would not be coaching this team if I thought the boys
were capable of doing it," Wright had said.
The ACU had secured the tapes of the match to ascertain
whether there indeed had been any wrongdoing.
