JK chief sec resigns, to join politics

Jammu and Kashmir chief secretary B.R.Kundal is learnt to have resigned from his job, to join active politics in the state and begin it on a high note with induction into the state cabinet.

Kundal, senior most IAS officer in the state, became chief secretary last year.

Sources said that another senior most IAS officer S.S.Kapoor is likely to take over as the new chief secretary on Monday.

Kunda,  sources said, is likely to join the party to pave the way for his induction into the Cabinet.

Sources said he was likely to get the prestigious power portfolio.
