Here's a glimpse of what designer Rahul Mishra offered up on Day One of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. Called Threads of Freedom, his outfits were all crafted using handspun organic khadi, dyed naturally.

The result was a range of rustic yet contemporary garments liike this pin-striped churidaar kurta.

Wrap-around looker

At first glimpse this strapless dress looks like it's just been wrapped around the model, but a closer look reveals the pleated detailing and simple but chic border print.

Be square

Sober grey colour, daring front slit. Michelle Innes is wearing a nice checkered dress that , what say?

Touch of see-through

The designer repeats the checkered theme, this time with a little blue thrown in and a sheer front panel.

Tied and trim

The chic bow and sunny yellow piping give this jacket dress an edge over the rest.

Crazy stripes

Mishra's next is even more striking -- the black-white combo and transparent fabric have everyone sit up and take notice.

Let it hang

Look cool and urbane in this cut-away top and lounging pants.

Making waves

Another multi-striped mini makes its way onto the ramp, this time with cap sleeves and a fabric belt.

Kitschy mix

And here is Nethra Raghuraman in a kitschy blue line-n-checkered mix of prints.
