Rahul Gandhi, Ash, Deepika win Youth Icon Awards

There's probably no way you can give Bollywood personalities a pass when you're announcing any youth icon awards.
Not surprisingly, three leading Hindi film heroines -- Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra accepted the trophies in various categories of the first Videocon India Youth Icon Awards.
Joining these names were the likes of Rahul Gandhi and Jammu & Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah among others who were named youth icons of the year.
Looking pretty in a black evening gown, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan accepted the award for Global Face of the Year.

Deepika Padukone was named Fashion Icon of the Year and accepted the award after walking the ramp in designer Manish Malhotra's collection.

Priyanka Chopra won the award for the Entertainment Icon of the year (Female) while Hrithik Roshan bagged the Entertainment Icon of the year (Male) trophy.

It certainly looked like Bollywood's night out as actor Rahul Bose stepped up and accepted the award in the category of Social Justice and Welfare as the founder of his NGO, The Foundation.

Abhinav Bindra was awarded the Indian Youth Icon for Sports for his achievement in the 10 m Air Rifle event at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

The India Youth Icon in Entrepreneurship (Private) went to Ajay Bijli, Chairman and Managing Director PVR Cinemas Ltd. Sachin Bhatia, Founder and CEO of Makemytrip.com won the India Youth Icon for Technology.

While Jammu & Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah was named the India Youth Icon for Politics, the biggest award of the night -- the India Youth Icon of the Year went to Rahul Gandhi.
