Here's a glimpse of designer Nikasha Tawadey's collection from Day One of the LFW. Inspired by the pretty flower Siuli, which blooms at night, and woven around a romantic legend about the tree, the collection was feminine, exotic and primarily ethnic.

Surelee Joseph is the first on the catwalk, in an ochre-tinged white and champagne sari.

Next are relaxed dhoti pants teamed with a matching sleeveless vest.
A ruffle-hemmed anarkali shows off a heavily embroidered bodice and conservative cut.
This orange 'n' cream lehenga is both trendy and traditional, with its polka dots, sparkle-tinged ruffles and floral dupatta.
Nicole Faria does her thing in figure-hugging churidaar pants and a matching short kurta.
This unusually cut coral choli garnered a lot of attention, but the fading sari is very elegant in its own way.
Voluminous and earthy, a gargantuan ghagra sails out onto the runway.
With the slit going up the front and its vibrant colour scheme, this ensemble was a huge hit.
The designer's showstopper was nothing if not bridal, with rich red, gold border and floral motif coming together in perfect harmony.
Tawadey steps out as all her creations line up in an array of colours.
