Shree Mahant Meerapuri is a senior sanyasin of the Juna Akhara. She took dikshit -- or the 'veil' -- when she was just 17. Her family tradition has it that one member from every generation must take sanyas. An interesting and strong-willed lady, she is also a classical Hindustani singer and a disciple of Pandit Birju Maharaj.
