Then there is the statue of the imposing Lord Cornwallis. Must have been a great statue once. But like Lord Wellesley, he has been beheaded too. There is a plaque identifying him and noting that Cornwallis died at Ghazipur in the province of Benares on October 5, 1805. There are few good words written in his memory and about his service to the Queen. It also mentions that the statue was brought from Fort to this museum. |
