The enormous grassy intermontane Moray plateau, surrounded by majestic Himalayan peaks, is the home of nomadic shepherds who graze sheep for their exotic pashmina wool in summer here. The road climbs the vast Pang plateau and enters the valley of Indus but only after crossing over a 5,328 m high pass beyond Dibring! The Tanglang La, the fourth pass of the journey, is the high point of the highway and offers a glimpse of the Karakoram range before descending towards Leh.
