The fair is the largest Indian camel market. Apart from camels, horses, bulls, buffaloes cows are brought here from all corners of the state to be traded. Some 50,000 camels, horses and cattle from various parts of Rajasthan are traded at the fair. They are nattily groomed and decorated and lined up for the highest bid.

A good camel can be traded for as much as Rs 20,000. While a good horse could fetch upto even Rs 50,000. Camel races, a favourite with punters, kick up a lot of dust and hungama. Food-stalls are set up. Circus and folk-artists put up their displays and show-off their skills. There are merry-go-rounds, livestock races, street theatre, jugglers, fire-eaters, acrobats.
