Saakshi Tanwar, who played the iconic role of Parvati in the hit television series Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki and is one of the top small-screen actresses, shares her memories of her dad on Father's day.

I remember I had just got my first assignment in Mumbai. It was June 2000. Since I am the youngest child in my family, I have always had a protected environment and had never stayed out of the house, so this was the first time that I was to be 'on my own.'

As expected, my family was too concerned and worried, and that is why dad came with me to set me up in Mumbai, my karmbhoomi! At first when we came, we stayed in a guesthouse in South Mumbai, which dad had arranged for, and we used to travel to the Western suburbs to look for accomodation.

While I was mostly busy with my shootings, dad did all the running around in the unknown city. I used to feel very guilty that dad was doing everything for me, while I couldn't be of any help to him. Then Fathers' Day came.

I remember I was shooting in Panvel and had a late pack up. On my way back, I just bought a bouquet, a card and two plates of vada pao as there was no facility for meals in the guest house and no restaurant was open near by.

I was getting panicky as the clock was moving closer to the day ending, and I wanted to make it before midnight, as he was alone on his day.

Thankfully, I reached just in time. I remember tears in his eyes when late at night, he opened the door and  saw the flowers and card. Eating those vada paos with dad in that small room was a moment I can never forget. It was the most memorable Father's Day, and the most cherished meal with dad! Happy Fathers' Day Papa and thanks for everything!
