Extravagant and over the top -- that best describes Ritu Beri's showing, which closed Day One of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. Her collection certainly created a buzz, proving once again why she's one of India's best-known designers on the international scene. And guess who showstopped for her? But we'll get to that later.
First on the ramp was Jesse Randhawa, in a gargantuan ruffled skirt that moves up into a pinafore, with a heavily embroidered choli worn underneath. A matching boa completes the picture.
Simple but slick
Here's a tip on funking up a simple outfit -- see how the heavyduty silver accessories and killer gladiators set off this classy white dress, worn by Tamara Moss.
Lookin' hot
Lakshmi Rana sizzles in jeans, boots, a bikini-style choli...need we say more?
Pearly bling
White pearls adorn a cropped denim jacket, worn over a white balloon affair and plenty of necklaces for effect. Sanea Sheikh carries everything off with elan.
Maxi style
Indrani Dasgupta ups the ante in a pale maxi and sophisticated hat, set off by chunky jewellery.
Dare to bare
Only strategically placed cutwork saves your modesty in this ensemble, worn over an asymmetrical skirt that requires leggings underneath.
Flounce and bounce
Jesse steps out again, looking very much the fine lady in her flouncy dress and strings of pearls.
Blazing in backless glory
Go the bold and beautiful route in this voluminous backless gown, worn with a netted boa by Bhavna Sharma.
Shimmer and shine
Doesn't Surelee Joseph look coy in this chic black number and feathery hat?
Tiny muse
Get a load of this little cutie, who showed up towards the end in a mini gown designed just for her!
Showstopper revealed
And if you're still waiting with bated breath, Beri's showstopper was none other than DevD star Abhay Deol, looking cool and casual in a waistocoat, jeans and a bowler hat. He also looks rather amused at the sight of the little lady in front of him!
