Lakme FW: Where fashion gets funky

Last updated on: September 22, 2009

Day Five of Lakme Fashion Week saw designer Chaitanya Rao showcase a number of urban, sexy outfits as part of his spring/summer 2010 collection. The unisex stylings were uncomplicated and attractive, with a dash of funky fashion thrown in. Here's what it was all about.

We start off with a teeny yellow bustier, worn under a pretty cutwork vest. The pants provide a dash of edginess with their bright patterning.

Pretty in pleats

Purple pleats make for a hot little skirt, teamed with a cool top that shows off side pockets and zipper detail.

Play on grey

Soft and satiny, this crossover blouse sits atop a matching skirt with pale gold floral motif.

Kitschy print

Stand out in a crowd of conventional suits with this printed trousers and jacket combo.

Netting the right look

Guys, show off a muscular chest from underneath a netted tee, teamed with a rad jacket.

A zap of orange

Another bustier takes to the runway, this time worn under a sheer matching grey blouse; the striking orange stripes on the skirt liven things up.

Sporty spunk

Freddy Daruwala goes the sporty route in steely grey shorts and a sleeveless jacket.

Scarlett siren

Strapless cocktails will never go out of style -- this red one wih its red drape in front more than makes the grade.

Rocker rags

Slinky black pants show off a dhoti design and the upper embroidered blouse has definite rockstar appeal.

Best from the rest

The showstopping dress is modelled by Candice Pinto -- a one-sided yellow-black kaftan worn over a black mini. Hot!
