Unusual monsoon pics: Loving the rural life
We invited you to send in unique rain-themed photographs -- odd scenes that are captured on a lens for posterity -- to share with other readers. Here are some more responses!
First up is this cute one from Manjunatha A, who says, "Monsoon brings a smile to formers and harvesting starts. This place is near Sagar, Shimoga in Karnataka. My son Ahilesh had a good time with his cousins playing in a flowing stream while his uncles and aunties were busy harvesting."

Colour of a summer sky
Next we have this one from N Venkatraman of Bangalore, showing sky-blue flowers in bloom. "I clicked this picture on my recent visit to the hillstation Yercaud in the Salem district," he explains. "These are Hydrangeas and they are found in the botanical garden over there."
Celestial wonder
Sandeep sent in this next one. He says, "These are the colours that the generally dull sky produces just after the afternoon rain. I live in the L&T camp at Dudapur, a small village 100 kms west of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The place is generally very very dry and very hot for most parts of the year. After a scorching summer, topping at a couple of degrees more than 50, this year the monsoon has cooled down the weather."
"Everyday starts out very humid and sweaty. By noon it gets even uglier. But after noon, at around 3-4 pm it starts to shower. Slowly, at first, but growing into a heavy rain in an hour or two."
"I snapped this picture just after the rain on a Sunday, July 18. The colours that were seen in the sky after the rain left me in wonder. It was lucky that my camera's battery was just enough. The whole moment lasted for 3-5 minutes. Then it was completely dark."
