Unusual monsoon pics: The magical effect of raindrops

We invited you to send in unique rain-themed photographs -- odd scenes that are captured on a lens for posterity -- to share with other readers. Here are some more responses!

First up is this unusual image from Afzal Aziz of Kochi, Kerala. "These are rain drops on my car roof," he explains. Could've fooled us at first glance!

Bullied into submission

Next we have this one from Amit Shastri, who explains, "I clicked this from my terrace in Sion, Mumbai. It was the first shower of the season and I could see dark, brooding clouds bullying the meek white clouds into submission. And then the drums began to roll!"

In the pink

Saurav Panja of Kolkata sent in this pretty picture. "This is an orchid flower in a botanical garden shot by me in Singapore last month," he says. "It had rained a few minutes earlier."

Water water everywhere

This snapshot showing a water-logged road was captured by Anant Kumar Sethi, who says that he encountered it in Himachal Pradesh, on the way from Mandi to Kullu. Wonder how they made it?

Monkeys in the mist

And finally, we have this seemingly Gorillas in the Mist-inspired pic from Amit Ranjan Sahu taken in Kodaikanal. "This monkey couple was shielding their child from the rain," he explains.
