The Royal Rajputana Collection by eminent designer Pria Kataaria Puri was showcased on Day One of Lakme Fashion Week -- and she got model-turned-actress Mugdha Godse to wear her showstopping creation.
The line is a tribute to the late Maharani Gayatri Devi -- in the designer's own words, "Her elegant chiffon saris combined with a string of pearls have become legendary in the world of fashion."

As such, the creations are all in jewel colours like topaz and emerald; the embellishments are in crystal, semi-precious stones and long strings of pearls, and the fabrics are mostly French chiffons and satins, with digital prints of the actual jewellery that the Maharani wore. Check it out.
Alicia Raut opened the show in this printed and shimmer-tinged sari, pearls cascading down her neck.

Kaftan couture
Next up we have Marianna Dias is a flowing kaftan-style maxi with a peephole neckline.
Minimalist appeal
The designer goes more minimalist with this bordered drape, which brings out the beautiful threadwork on the choli.
Shimmer and shine
Kataaria Puri's love of bling comes to the fore once more with this heavily sparkle-encrusted gown.
Shorter is better
Hemlines are hiked a tad with this kimono-sleeved print.
Fitted form
Seen here is a slightly more tapered silhouette, showing off puffed sleeves and a juxtaposition of prints.
Tinge of green
Predominantly mellow yellow is jazzed up with shimmery green along the border.
Digital deal
Digital prints of the late Maharani's eye-popping jewellery are clearly seen on this emerald number.
Making a statement
Sky blue and silver come together on a perfectly geometrical floor-sweeping ensemble.
Rajasthani royal
Surelee Joseph strikes a pose in another of the designer's digi-printed ethnic drapes.
Jewelled inspiration
A rather straight-tailored dress is fastened at the neckline by crystal embellishments.
Coral couture
The gold choli that peeps out from behind this sari was the focal point of this creation.
Cocktails, anyone?
We liked this sexy cocktail sari, with its pretty ruffled hemline and sparse sparkle embroidery.
Pretty in pink
Mugdha Godse showstops in a delicious strawberry lehenga with plenty of shine -- very bridal.
In her own design
Kataaria Puri makes an entrance in one of her own creations, looking radiant as her models and the audience applaud.
