Fashion: Sabya rocks the runway, goes boho-glam!

Last updated on: March 6, 2010 09:38 IST

As strains of Edith Piaf's French cabaret numbers played in the background and fairy lights twinkled in pretty rows above the runway, Sabyasachi brought Day One of Lakme Fashion Week to a close with his resortwear collection.

In a departure from his trademark ethnicwear, the designer put out a decidedly breezy line, with hints of bling and plenty of boho touches -- shiny bikini tops, translucent fabrics and retro glares dominated the runway.

Starting the show is this bold shocker (well, bold for Sabya anyway!) -- a transparent skirt and bolero, with threadwork placed strategically on top and worn over boy-shorts below.
