Designer Paromita Banerjee showcased her latest offerings on Day Four of the LFW. Titled 'The laal paar and other stories', her line sought to add a rustic touch and de-glamorise fashion; it was inspired by the 'laal paar', the traditional hand-woven red border sari of Bengal.

The garments were layered and tailored in mulmul, khadi, silk and other Indian fabrics, while the overall silhouettes were also reminiscent of cultural wear from all over the country. Here's a glimpse.
Candice Pinto makes the first entry in a cotton ghera yoke cut shift with gathered churi sleeves and black circle dye.
A play on the little black dress
Next is Banerjee's own take on the LBD in sleeveless voile with placement buta in small floral clusters.
Jama jazz
Seen here is a long printed mulmul ghera 'jama' style kurta with chintz printed yoke, worn over churidaar pants.
Wrap over
Citrus yellow brings out the best in this wrap-over jacket with printed chanderi draped collar and floral embroidery.
Short 'n' sweet
We loved this short 'jama' with black piping detail and side-placement embroidery -- it is teamed with drawstring shorts.
Kitschy mix
In a kitschy mix, the designer throws together a 'Chinese floral' print kurta with yellow chanderi skirt and crushed navy and red-dyed sari.
Boho beauty
Lisa Haydon looks radiant in a red bordered wrap worn as a tube dress, along with a front-open long jacket bearing red circle dye on the front.
The 'laal paar'
Here is a wrap in kora handloom tangail and dull rose chanderi with 'laal paar' border, worn as a strapless dress.
