Drawing inspiration from the famous desi snack chanachur or 'Bombay Mix' as it is known the world over, Debarun Mukherjee showcased his line on Day Five of the LFW. Take a look.

According to the designer, "the humble chanachur resembles us in so many ways...it is a flaming combination of so many things inconsequential yet integral on the whole".

Drawing inspiration from the world over, the creations blend Western silhouettes with Indian embroidery and texturing. Seen here is the opening of the show, with all the models displaying the collection in its entirety.

Wavy verve

An anarkali-style dress shows off delightful wavy embroidery from the waist down.

Raw silk rocks

Geometric patterns on the bodice give way to solid copper on this number, with threadwork on the sleeves and a colourful straw handbag setting it off.

Brick red

For the men, here is a brick red suit worn over ochre shirt with detailing on the shoulders.

Essence of summer

Diandra Soares poses in a pretty pale yellow tube dress with Indian motif on the chest and on the sparse drape across the front.

Golden sunset

Sanea Sheikh sails in wearing a pale orange and gold ghagra with heavily worked halterneck choli.

Floral hint

We liked this sherwani jacket with its hint of floral embroidery -- the bright hue is another plus point.

Fusion fashion

The showstopper is a beautiful brown backless ensemble, which gives the impression of a ghagra choli even though it's actually a one-piece dress.

Offering thanks

Mukherjee acknowledges the applause with folded hands alongside his best creation.
