Silent contemplation

We invited you to send in unique rain-themed photographs -- odd scenes that are captured on a lens for posterity -- to share with other readers. Here are some more responses!

First up is this one of from Jaydeep Deshmukh, who says, "It was taken on top of Vichitragad Fort, around 60 kms from Pune in Maharashtra. There was a brief lull in the rains and it was beautifully lush and green. Looking at the pond and my trekmates, I had to click this picture..."

Share your interesting monsoon snapshots with us! They could be from anywhere across India or the world, but they have to be original.

Simply e-mail your photographs to getahead@rediff.co.in (subject line: 'Unusual monsoon pics') -- we'll publish the most interesting ones right here on rediff.com and in India Abroad. And make sure to include a little-write up of where you clicked the snap.

Remember, the theme is the monsoons, so your photograph has to gel with the season. Hurry and send in your entry today!

Satya N Govind (Chari), who describes himself as a scriptwriter, cartoonist and amateur photographer sent this image in. He explains, "For the past two months, Delhi has been receiving unexpectedly heavy rainfall, the recorded maximum since 1978. I've managed to click a plethora of photographs on the city's stint with the monsoons and I hope you like this one of an eagle cruising through the overcast sky, just a few minutes before a downpour. It reminds me of the Dark Knight flying over Gotham City with the bat symbol as a backdrop."
