While the fashion on the ramp was a mixed bag, there were some off-ramp style that got our thumbs up. We take a look...

Manika Dutta is a young PR executive who caught our eye this morning. She might've been wearing a rather staid olive green dress but Dutta sure stood out from among the crowd thanks to her matching chappals and that huge bag of hers -- both in shocking red.

Chappals: Rs 600 (from Westside)

Bag: Rs 2,000 (from Marks & Spencer)

Dress: Rs 300 (off the road in Bandra, Mumbai)

The LBD gets a 'shocking' twist

Aastha Jain is a fashion design student who possibly swears by the little black dress.

She picked up this Lycra LBD from the recently opened Zara store in Mumbai. Jain however decided to add a personal touch and chose to go with a pair of shocking pink shoes.

The neckpiece she wears also doubles up as a bracelet. 8 on 10 for that experiment and a 10 on 10 for pure gumption!

Little black dress: Rs 2,000 (from Zara)

Hot pink shoes: Rs 4,000 (from Tres Mode)

Bracelet: Rs 300 (off the road in Bandra, Mumbai)

Flirty in virginal whites

There were a handful of ladies wearing whites on Day One but it was Jahnavi Tampi who we thought wore it best.

What made her stand out was that classy pearl necklace, the smart elegance of which stood quite in contrast with her flirty white dress from Zara. (Note: she doesn't remember where she got the pearl neckpiece from or the price of her dress).

Saying it with linen

Now the thing with aspiring designer Aayushi Waghela's dress wasn't that it made her stand out so much but rather blend in. Many women were seen wearing prints on linen and cotton and Ms Waghela was one of them.

She carried it off rather well we thought! That big bag of hers kinda added to her girlish charm.

Linen dress from GAP (Note: She cannot remember what it cost her)

Bag: Rs 200

Chappals: Rs 1,500
