Tiphaereth Israel Synagogue at Jacob Circle is a typical Bene Israel synagogue. Small, but shiny and well-kept, 30-40 Jews worship here on Fridays.
Caretaker Moshe Avaskar, who is filling coconut oil in the silver lamp, speaks fluent Marathi. The synagogue has a Marathi-Jewish calendar.
